UN identifies Morocco as an “investment platform”
07/11/2016 - Général

In 2015 Morocco was able to tap into 3.2 billion dollars of direct foreign investment (DFI), confirming its position as an industrial base and an African platform for foreign investment, according to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in its annual report.

“The country continues to be used as a production platform for foreign investment on the continent”, emphasised the UN agency in its “World investment report 2016” published in Geneva.

The United Nations organisation drew particular attention to the investment projects launched last year in the automobile and real estate industries as well as the FDI coming from Western Asia.

The report also highlighted the “ever growing capacities” of Moroccan companies in direct intra-African investment in diverse sectors such as finance, services, telecommunications and other industrial sectors.
