Thanks to its political stability and its unstoppable economic progress, Morocco has secured the top spot as the most attractive country on the African continent in the 2017 ranking published by the international group Ernst & Young (EY). Introduced for the first time in 2016 this index put Morocco in first place ahead of Kenya and South Africa. Morocco made an impressive leap from the second place it was awarded in 2016. This ranking is based on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) as a measure of the resilience of each country to face up to macroeconomic pressures. It also takes into account progress made in sensitive, long-term areas like governance, economic diversification, infrastructure, business and human development.
