Under the Patronage of His Majesty, King Mohammed VI and organised by the Ministry for Industry, Investment, Trade and the Digital Economy in partnership with “Jeune Afrique Media Group” and “BOAO Business Consulting” the CAIF brought together more than 450 decision makers and managers from big African and Chinese groups for two days of conferences and business meetings. This objective was to debate the future of Chinese-African cooperation at a vital moment in history, namely the creation of the new Silk Road.
This second edition of the CAIF represents a genuine platform to develop Chinese-African business partnerships.
The high level workshops and meeting organised during the CAIF were the occasion to highlight the numerous opportunities currently open to operators in shared interest sectors. This is particularly the case for industry, infrastructure, and renewable energies. It is also provided the chance to consider the necessary funds and lending means to help capitalise on the new momentum generated by the New Silk Road Initiative and to consolidate the Chinese-African partnership which is already well-established and varied.
Accelerating investments, encouraging partnerships in big growth sectors, promoting co-production and local industrial sourcing, identifying the shared interests between the Chinese investment strategy and African economic priorities, creating a financial and legal framework that promotes trade exchanges and industrial success, these were the subjects on the agenda for this latest edition of the CAIF. They represent the necessary conditions to foster so that the China-Africa relationship can reach its full potential.
