02/12/2018 - Général

Today, French car part manufacture Daher inaugurated its third factory in Tangier in the presence of Moulay Hafid Elalamy, the Moroccan minister for Industry, Trade, and the Digital Economy (Photo), Didier Kayat, Managing Director of Daher and Patrick Daher, CEO of the Daher group. The French group is strengthening its presence in Morocco following the opening of its first two sites, one in Tangier in 2001 and then another in Casablanca in 2007.

Located half a mile from the first site in the Tanger Free Zone (TFZ), near the airport, the new Tangier factory will provide support for the ever-increasing demand from international aeronautic programs that Daher is a partner of. With this brand new location, the company will be better able to meet the needs of its clients (Airbus Commercial Aircraft, Airbus Helicopters, Dassault…).

With this new investment of more than 15 million euros, Daher continues its development in Morocco where the aeronautic ecosystem is in full expansion. With a total area of 10,000 m2, this new site takes the total production area of Daher in Morocco to 30,000 m2. In the long-term it will employ more than 250 people who will be added to the existing 550 employees on the other two sites.

“Training, the quality of work, the rigor in following procedures and quality norms, geographic proximity and global costs are all factors that convinced us to strengthen our industrial presence in Morocco. Our development policy in this country can also be seen in support for our employees who will benefit from a skills development program and training on quality and safety methods at Daher”stated Didier Kayat, Managing Director at Daher.

Production operations at the new factory in Tangier started in the 3rd quarter of 2017. All of the know-how at Daher in terms of aeronautics is present from metallic and composite structures through to components for the engine environment of planes.
