According to the international business intelligence firm, Oxford Business Group (OBG), Morocco recorded the highest increase of Internet users in North Africa due to an ambitious nationwide strategy: Maroc Numeric 2009-2013. Under the plan, the number of Internet users has reached 49% of the population. OBG also noted that the deployment of 4G technology and optical fiber networks scheduled for this year is expected to enable even more Moroccans to connect to the Internet and such rapid growth can be attributed to the popularity of 3G subscriptions. According to the National Agency of Telecommunications Regulation (ANRT), the think-tank indicated that 98% of Moroccan companies with more than 10 employees who had computers in 2010, 91% of those had Internet access.
